CockRock was dreamed up after a cycling accident in the Cockermouth Hills, Cumbria which required urgent attention from the Great North Air Ambulance. For the cyclists' friends the experience highlighted the importance of the service so they decided to launch a festival to raise funds for the air ambulance and the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue team. The event presents local bands and artists, with an acoustic tent, a bar, and food stalls. Camping is available for those who want to make it a complete festival.
